Russell Hobbs Steam Iron UK Reviews

By  Carol

Russell Hobbs make around 20 models of steam irons. The vast majority of those have an electrical cord, but they also have two cordless models. Below we have created a full comparison list of those models which show the main differences between the various models.

Explanation of Features

Average Price

This is the average price on the UK marketplace, and these change all of the time. We only use this price as an average. You should always check the actual price at he time of purchase.

Buyer Rating

During our extensive research we look at various websites and calculate the average buyer rating. This is then scored out of 100%. The higher this number is the higher the online buyers rated their purchase.

Watts

This is the wattage of the boiler. The higher this number the faster your iron will heat up. The average boiler wattage is 2,400 watts and this takes about 30 seconds for a steam iron to be ready to use.

Tank Size

This is the size of the water tank. This can vary between 260-380 ml on a Russell Hobbs steam iron. The larger the tank means that you will not need to fill it up as often.

Constant Steam

Steam irons produce a steady constant steam. The pressure of this is measured in grams per minute (g/min) The higher this number is the more steam it will produce, and makes getting rid of wrinkles faster.

Steam Shot

Steam irons also have a steady steam shot. The pressure of this is measured in grams per minute (g/min) This is used to remove stubborn wrinkles, and again, the higher tis is the better.

Cable Length

This shows the length of the cable provided on each model. On Russell Hobbs steam irons this can be 2 metres (6.6 feet), 2.5 metres 98.2 feet) or 3 metres (9.8 feet). This is not applicable to cordless irons.

Buying Tips You Should Know

Water in the Tank

Russell Hobbs test all their steam irons before leaving the factory. Sometimes, when you receive your iron, you may find some residue water left in the bottom of the water tank. Some buyers are concerned that they have received a second hand, used or returned steam iron. That is not the case for the reason explained above.

Russell Hobbs Warranty

Russell Hobbs offer a 2 year warranty on their steam irons. You can also register your product online and this will get you an extra year's warranty. You need to enter your name, email, and postcode. You then enter the model number, date of purchase and place of purchase. Click here for the product registration page.

Buying from the Manufacturer or through other Retail Shops or Online

The price a Russell Hobbs steam iron is sold at is determined by the individual retailer. Manufacturers sell directly from their website but they also sell at wholesale rates to various retailers. That is good for competition but does mean that we have to search around for the best price.

There are also special offers and these vary a lot from various retail outlets.
