For those who want an affordable steam iron that can remove wrinkles quickly, the Breville VIN413 SuperSteam steam iron is certainly worth your consideration. With an average price in the UK of just under £25, it is Breville's cheapest iron and also one of the cheapest on the UK market.
In this review, I will explain the technical specifications, performance capabilities, and include user feedback to help you decide if it's the right fit for your specific ironing needs.
I'm Enda McLarnon, and on my steam iron review website, I have a lot of research experience in the UK and hand's on knowledge about many laundry related products. I have used this VIN413 model so as I can help give you my thoughts on this steam iron.
First Impressions
Straight out of the box, the VIN413 looks to be of good quality. It looks like any standard steam iron, the handle is comfortable and it has a standard 300ml water tank. The ceramic soleplate looks really good. This is one of Breville's lighter irons.
You can get this iron in the navy and polished brass colour shown above, and it's also available in black (VIN409), green (VIN393), red (VIN412) and in white and gold (VIN410). You will notice that the model number changes depending on which colour you pick. Just be aware of that if you decide to order.
Actual Performance
Heating up is very good and it took around one minute before I could use the iron. This is fast compared to other models of steam irons. The temperature control is accurate with a good range of options, and that's worth knowing if you need to iron delicate delicate fabrics.
The 190g steam shot is enough to deal with stubborn creases really well, while the 40g continuous steam keeps the steam flowing smoothly. I also tried the vertical steaming which was pretty impressive, making quick work of curtains and delicate garments.

Other User Feedback
Most Breville VIN413 reviews are really good. They like that the iron is light and many complemented the ceramic soleplate and precision tip. The main emphasis of the reviews was on very good value for money. It is worth pointing out this is a basic steam iron, hence the lower price, but it still has a good number of useful features.

"Used it a few times over the past couple of weeks and I’m very happy with it…." | Features | E.H. Essex, Argos |
"The lead is shorter than other brands which may be a problem for some users." | Cons | Sisal, Argos |
"Great iron, does what it says on the tin! Has multiple settings, easy to iron both harder-wearing fabrics like linen and cotton, as well as more delicate synthetics. Haven't needed to use the steam setting as yet but seems to work well. Doesn't leave marks on fabrics either." | Overall Performance | Jane Wiliams, Tesco |

VIN413 Comparison
I have compared this iron to two very similar models at the same price point. Those were the Russell Hobbs Supreme Steam Traditional Iron and the Philips Steam Iron Easyspeed. You can see that it compares well with those. It is a heavier iron which some people like and it heats up faster. It also has more functions and better constant steam and steam shot.

My Final Thoughts
The Breville VIN413performs well when compared with other steam irons at similar prices. It is one of Breville's lightest irons and one of their most affordable. The soleplate is smooth so no snagging, and I like that it has a tip that can reach difficult parts. I don't believe this is suitable for larger families as it doesn't have enough power, or a big enough tank for long periods of use.
Ultimately, I believe the VIN413 is worth your consideration, if you are looking for a good budget basic iron. Consider your ironing needs and budget before making your decision. If this is not the one for you, check our top 5 list of Breville steam irons.
