Who Would Buy the Tefal GV6720 Effectis?
If you can find it around £120, that that is at the lower end of the price scale for generator style irons. That makes it relatively affordable, for anyone wanting to buy a good quality iron, from a very well known and trusted Tefal brand.

Key Feature List
- You get 5 bars of pressure and 100 grams per second of steam output
- This one measures 33 cm x 20 cm - as such gives those with smaller homes or anyone with limited storage space the chance to experience the speed and efficiency of steam generator technology.
- A safety auto-cut off feature
- 2 minute heat up time
- Weighs 4.3 Kg
- 1.5 litre water tank
- Uses 2,200 watts of power
- Ultraglide soleplate
- Easy to use with good safety features
This iron is a lot more powerful than a normal steam iron. With an iron like this, it truly is possible to cut your ironing time in half. It produces lots of steam, and the soleplate is very well designed, to quickly glide over clothes, as the steam easily removes wrinkles and creases.
Improved & Enhanced Safety Features
Using any type of steam iron can result in burns , especially to the hands. There is also a risk of forgetting about your iron and leaving it on.
This model has an auto-cut off feature, to cut the power to the iron, if it is forgotten about. That is always a useful feature to have on any iron.
This is an important and I think very useful feature to have on your iron. Households can get very busy, and it is easy to get distracted.
This iron will allow you to iron a pile of clothes faster, that using your standard iron. The water tank holds around 1.5 litres of water, and that will let you iron, uninterrupted for about 90 minutes, before a refill is required.
The manufacturer does state that you should use distilled water. The purpose behind this is to stop any build up of limescale.
Doing this of course means buying distilled water. That I agree can be a real pain, but by doing so, you will add years of life to any iron.
